Listen to and learn from Tennessee students as they navigate school in the time of COVID-19
Much has changed since COVID-19 disrupted the spring semester for students around the nation. Much has also stayed the same. Tennessee students are embarking on yet another uncertain time of schooling – as their state is one of the first in the nation to begin a brick-and-mortar reopening of its schools. While some students in rural counties are preparing for days back in a school building, others in Tennessee’s largest school districts are settling into another season of online learning.
We want to hear directly from students – their hopes and concerns for this semester, as well as their recommendations for how school leaders, policymakers, and adults can better help them navigate the year ahead.
Join Chalkbeat Tennessee and The Education Trust in Tennessee for a second conversation with Tennessee middle school and high school students – building off a dialogue we had with students in May. Please RSVP, so we know you’re coming and are able to provide you with login information for the webinar.
Chalkbeat Tennessee is a nonprofit news organization committed to covering one of the state’s most important stories: the effort to improve schools for all children, especially those who have historically lacked access to a quality education.
The Education Trust in Tennessee advocates for equitable education for historically-underserved students across the state. We believe in centering the voices of Tennessee students and families as we work alongside them for the future they deserve.
