Claudia Caballero

President and CEO
Centro Hispano de East Tennessee

Claudia Caballero is the President & CEO of Centro Hispano, the community center and educational hub for the Latino community in Knoxville, Tennessee. A Honduran-American who is both bilingual and bicultural, she spent most of her early childhood and teenage years moving between Honduras and the United States. As an immigrant in both countries, she has become an expert at making new places home, working with her communities, and creating connections where they might not have otherwise existed.

Since taking the position at Centro Hispano in 2016, Claudia has steered the organization’s priorities to advocating for and serving youth, children, and their families. To ensure a Latino community that thrives culturally, educationally, and economically, she believes we must work to remove barriers and create equitable educational opportunities for the generations to come.

In addition to her work with Centro Hispano, Claudia mentors three young Latinos, she serves on the boards of the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce, The East Tennessee Foundation, and the advisory board for Johnson University. She is a graduate of Leadership Knoxville ’19 and Leadership Tennessee Class VII.

Claudia is an enthusiastic Texas Two-Step dancer, loves sharing meals with friends, cooking, gardening, thrift shopping, and road trips. Claudia lives in a beautiful “holler” in South Knoxville with her 2 cats.
