Jeff Strand

Originally from Minneapolis, Jeff left his role as a Special Education teacher in 2018 because he found that the outside obstacles faced by students in his classroom posed undue barriers to their success, and he wanted to try to fix that. To this end, he enrolled in the Community Development and Action master’s program at Vanderbilt, graduating in May of 2020. Currently, Jeff is the Coordinator for Government and External Affairs for the Tennessee Disability Coalition, where he works on the public policy and communications teams advocating for policies that serve persons with disabilities.
