Director, Advocacy and Engagement

Jordyn Bussey is the director for advocacy and engagement at The Education Trust, where she leads the development of coalitions and strategic partnerships with state-based organizations aligned with Ed Trust’s equity-based policy and practice priorities. Jordyn brings a wealth of valuable expertise in moving communities to improve the lives of the most underserved Americans including: organizing issue campaigns on voting rights, criminal justice reform, judicial nominations, and education.

Prior to joining Ed Trust, Jordyn served as a regional manager for The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights (LCCHR), which is the nation’s oldest, largest, and most diverse civil and human rights coalition. There, she honed her advocacy skills in increasingly more advanced roles. She also worked for the Global Youth for Education and Change in an internship position in South Africa, where she worked with families to assess support needs, and connected them with the appropriate resources to obtain proper social and governmental support.

The daughter of a public school teacher, Jordyn has a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.
