Laura Ward is the Vice President of Talent Development at the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce where she is focused on helping employers build internal and external talent pipelines and eliminating barriers to education and employment for adults and Opportunity Youth. After spending two decades working in human resources and post-secondary education, Laura knows the value of education and unhindered access to opportunities. Laura’s work centers on connecting these adults in the region with postsecondary credential and degree programs in key sectors to meet the talent needs of employers. She leads work for the Nashville Talent Hub, a Lumina Foundation designation, and is part of Lumina Foundation’s Federal Policy Corps. Laura is the Tennessee state lead for TN-BLU, a chapter of Business Leaders United, and SkillSPAN, both part of the National Skills Coalition. Laura earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management and a Master of Science in Counseling, both from Missouri State University.
