She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and Spanish from the University of Michigan.
What are people most surprised to learn about you?
I used to write for a street style fashion blog.
What drew you to education?
I became interested in education through teaching English to non-native speakers of all ages. While working with a third grade ELL student in my community, I saw firsthand the challenges and lack of supports he had in his school. These experiences and my interest in research were central to my decision to pursue education policy.
