Pia is responsible for the Development team’s data management, reporting, user training, and interface customization. She assists with the management of grant awards, helps coordinate deadlines, and facilitates funder document preparation to help the development priorities of the organization run smoothly.
Prior to joining EdTrust, Pia worked as an operations and communications intern at the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools, where she worked closely with education administrators from around the world, advocating for the importance of women’s education. During her two-year internship, she learned the importance of fostering relationships between educators of different backgrounds to work toward a common goal: equity for those who are prone to being sidelined.
At her university, she worked as a technology, research, and communications fellow, where she served as a liaison between professors and students in writing-intensive courses. This strengthened her passion for effective messaging and communications in the domain of educational practices in and beyond the classroom. Pia received her B.A. from Lehigh University in English and Philosophy.
Sweets – particularly chocolate! I love Ferrero Rocher’s and Lindt’s milk chocolate. I don’t discriminate on gummies though — I also love Haribo Twin Snakes!
What drew you to education?
I am a firm believer that the education system has a unique power to highlight the lived experiences of those who may have been sidelined due to a myriad of issues — whether structural or societal. To me, an education system that is attendant to all the nuances that people reckon with nowadays is the bulwark for a wounded society.
