Trish Callahan

Director, Human Resources

As the human resources director, Trish leads the organization’s HR function, working to establish The Education Trust as an employer of choice.

Trish brings more than 15 years of human resources leadership to this role. Her experience spans widely diverse companies with very different business and leadership models, including nonprofit educational media; publicly traded, quick-service restaurants; family-owned electronic component manufacturing; and business consulting. Trish’s varied background not only has expanded her skills as an HR professional, but also has enabled her to bring innovative solutions to the challenges that face workplaces today. By partnering with business leaders, she has successfully built and transformed HR functions and services that add value to businesses by developing and implementing tools, programs, and data that impact business results. Organizational development and employer branding are two of her highlight programs. Her creative problem-solving has been admired by her peers and senior executives throughout her career.  Trish’s relentless drive to see organizations reach or exceed their potential by optimizing their most valuable resources — their people — has proven to be the pillar of her success.

Prior to Ed Trust, Trish began her career with the McDonald’s Corporation, progressing to a regional HR manager. In that role, she provided HR support to over 300 restaurant locations; acted as an advisor to 100+ franchise owners; and handled administrative services, technology, and facilities management for the regional office.

After McDonald’s, Trish joined Sesame Workshop as an HR director and quickly rose to the position of vice president. Sesame Workshop had opposing challenges from those at McDonald’s, so Trish was able to hone her skills as an HR leader and an employer branding and Total Rewards evangelist.

Trish holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from The Ohio State University with a focus on human resources and labor relations. She also is a certified facilitator for the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Successful People.

What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work?

I travel and when I really need to relax, I make jewelry. Working with mixed metals is my favorite.

Why are you passionate about working at Ed Trust?

Ed Trust is full of really smart people who are passionate about our movement. I want to be a part of the impact that this organization is poised to have on the education system around the country. I want to be a part of the solution.
