Event

In this plenary, participants will have the opportunity to hear from a panel about the emerging call for parent bills of rights from policymakers and communities attacking equity and critical race theory taking place across the country. These calls for parent advocacy use similar language as modern parent power and advocacy groups, yet are antithetical to the parent engagement efforts nationwide to engage, empower, equip, and elevate families who have been historically most impacted by historical racism and left out of positions of power and influence in the education system. We will have a candid conversation about the nuances of these parent advocacy efforts and discuss how to truly build an education system that engages and empowers all families.
