BREAKOUT SESSION: Dismantling Systemic Racism in Early Care and Education
States are receiving an unprecedented amount of funding for early care and education while facing unprecedented challenges in meeting the needs of our youngest learners. In this session, we’ll present key steps states can take to ensure that early care and education is more equitable for young learners of color, including those who are dual language learners and young learners with disabilities. The founding director of the Children’s Equity Project, Dr. Shantel Meek, will discuss her organization’s report Start with Equity: 14 Policies to Dismantle Systemic Racism in Early Care and Education.
