We recognize a key component of this is ensuring a strong and well-supported workforce of teachers of color. As such, EdTrust is working to inform policies, practices and programs at the local, state and national levels to better support teachers of color in entering, persisting, and succeeding in the teaching profession.

We value the input of teachers as the folks closest to the work. We want to get an understanding about motivations for teaching, barriers and challenges entering and remaining in the profession, and what supports have been effective or could be effective for the success of teachers of color.
