Shayna is a policy analyst on the P-12 team. In this role, Shayna supports work related to the Alliance for Resource Equity coalition and conducts research, analysis and literature reviews related to topics such as assessments and accountability systems.
Prior to Ed Trust, Shayna worked as a policy analyst and development associate at the National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ), a research and policy organization working to ensure that every child has an effective teacher, and every teacher can become effective.
Shayna holds a B.A. from American University in Washington, D.C, where she studied Law and Education, and a certificate in Ethical Leadership Studies.

What drew you to education?
I was fortunate to have teachers — in my personal life as well as in public school — that did way more than just teach me: they inspired, empowered, and challenged me. It was their passion, love of learning, and sense of community that drew me to the education world.
