Ed Trust President and CEO John B. King Jr. visited Charles Herbert Flowers High School in Maryland on Friday morning to celebrate #CollegeSigningDay, an opportunity for graduating seniors to announce their college decisions to schoolwide fanfare — much like NCAA athletes do for National Signing Day.

The event, now in its fourth year, serves two purposes: (1) to recognize the academic achievements of students with the same enthusiasm that sports accolades are often celebrated and (2) to build excitement around college and foster a schoolwide culture that prepares students for the next step in their educational journeys.

“Today is about hard work, persistence, patience, and courage,” King told the students during a schoolwide assembly. “Today is about you — and ‘the places you’ll go.’”
