Aden Klein

Tennessee Policy Intern

Aden is a policy intern at The Education Trust in Tennessee. He is currently an undergraduate at Duke University, where he is studying Public Policy and Economics. He also teaches a course on educational equity and mentorship, with a focus on partnership with Neal Middle School. At Ed Trust, he tracks policy priorities and follows the progress of key education policies through the Tennessee legislature.

Prior to joining Ed Trust, he has worked on a number of policy research and advocacy projects in the fields of energy, satellite and space, cyber and national security, and environmental policy. Throughout his work, he has focused on practical policy that improves communities and advances equity and opportunity for all. He is excited to return to work close to home in Tennessee and looks forward to renewing his interest in education policy

Aden is a Tennessee native who grew up in Sevier County and attended Pi Beta Phi Elementary and Gatlinburg-Pittman High School. During high school, he focused heavily on fostering educational opportunity, equity, and student success. He helped found two programs focused on mental health and suicide prevention for both middle and high school students, expanded his school’s peer tutoring program to make it accessible to the entire student body, and hosted a post-high school workshop exposing high school students to a variety of post-secondary opportunities and the resources necessary to reach them. He feels strongly that students should have equal, equitable opportunity to pursue their goals and is excited to work with Ed Trust to improve the support offered to Tennessee students.
