What drew you to education?
By joining Teach for America in Miami, I got to see how pivotal education was in terms of opportunity. While I felt I taught my students well, they gave me 10 times over what I was able to provide them. A way in which to continue to give back to my students, I wanted to work on the policy side of education. By working in policy, I feel that I can further ensure that Black first-generation students like me could have access to every opportunity that education has to offer.
