Jennie Williamson is the State Director for The Education Trust-Massachusetts, where she leads the development and implementation of the Massachusetts team’s strategic vision, long term and short-term goals, and priorities.
Jennie began her career working in the Massachusetts State House in various positions, most recently serving as the research director for the Massachusetts Legislature’s Joint Committee on Education where she helped lead the development, analysis, and passage of key state policies governing K-12 public education in Massachusetts. She then went on to serve as Director of Government Affairs for the Massachusetts Charter Public School Association (MCPSA), where she was responsible for leading and executing the organization’s policy agenda and advocacy strategies to advance educational policies that close opportunity gaps in MA.
While at MCPSA, she led successful lobbying efforts that resulted in key policy wins, led numerous stakeholder mobilization and coalition building initiatives, and implemented strategic communications to further the sector’s equity vision, education policy agenda, and political goals.
Jennie comes to Ed Trust with a deep passion and commitment to the work of ensuring all children have equitable access to resources and opportunities that enable them to thrive and reach their full potential. She has a B.A. in English from Tufts University and a M.P.A. from Harvard University.
