Butterflies in the Hallway

Following a young man named Cornelius through school, from the moment he fell in love with reading in kindergarten to the day he dropped out of school 12 years later, “Butterflies in the Hallway” offers educators an opportunity to examine the often gradual process by which students disengage from schools — and educators from students — and spark conversations about how schools can systemically break what has become a too common narrative that somehow never quite tells the full story.
