Ivelisse Gilestra
Ivelisse Gilestra currently works for College & Community Fellowship in New York as a community organizer. An advocate on issues of accessibility to higher education, while emphasizing societal sanctioned barriers affecting people with criminal convictions and individuals currently incarcerated. She believes in shifting the narrative which normalizes the effects of the prison industrial complex in Black, Latino, and Indigenous communities, while envisioning effective ways of defining justice inclusive of community. She is a graduate of Rutgers University.
